Naomi Wolf? te gebruiken). Dit is grrlie zomerleesvoer bij uitstek, vanaf de kaft-met-ijsje tot en met het lekker opgeruimde eind van het verhaal 880 pagina's verderop. Gaat in de ruildoos.

Na kort googelen het volgende gevonden: Olivia Goldsmith, the author of the satirical novel that became the successful Hollywood movie "The First Wives Club," died of cardiac arrest while under sedation for cosmetic surgery, the office of the chief medical examiner said late yesterday. While not attributing negligent conduct, the office noted that the death resulted from "a known complication" of the anesthesia and other treatment that involved four drugs that the examiner identified. Ms. Goldsmith, born Randy Goldfield, entered the hospital for a chin tuck on Jan. 7. During preparation for surgery, she suffered cardiac arrest, went into a coma and was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital, where she died on Jan. 15.
ach nee!! o, wat erg, wat erg, zeker aangezien wat ze allemaal schrijft over cosmetische ingrepen in dit boek uit 1994. Diep triest dat zo'n talentvol mens toch sterft aan zoiets nutteloos waarover ze zoveel zinnige dingen over te zeggen had... Ik ben blij dat ik dit niet wist voordat ik het boek las, want het geeft toch wel een heel andere kijk op het hele verhaal. Een soort donkere sluier over wat eigenlijk een lekker feelgood boek is.
